Close-up of attempted whitewash of graffiti on Free Derry Corner. Graffiti reads 'McCanns Your Man. Vote No.1'. This was in support of civil rights actvist, journalist and author Eamonn McCann who stood for the Socialist Environmental Alliance in the 2003 Northern Ireland Assembly elections. McCann polled 2257 first preference votes (5.53%) but was not elected. He reportedly painted over the graffiti in person. |
