Mural erected quickly following the resignation of the Secetary of State for Northern Ireland, Peter Mandelson on 24th January 2001. He is again depicted as Pinnochio (see Album 12 No 423), but carries a suitcase labelled 'to Oblivion' this time. Overhead, a banner with balloons reads 'Slán Abaile'and don't forget your passport!' A guitarist called 'Cruncher' sings 'Oh Mandy, you came and thought you were able' I had to turn you away'Oh Mandy'. The footnote again reads 'Peter Meddlesome'. |

Relating to the shooting of the British military attaché Brigadier Stephen Saunders with a trademark .45 calibre pistol in Athens by the Marxist guerrilla group November 17 on 8th June 2000. This group arose from resistance to the 1967-75 Greek military junta, and are named after a 1973 student uprising in Athens in which the army killed 20 students. |
