Four figures are shown; Captain James Craig, Major Frederick Crawford, Vol. Robert (Squeak) Seymour and Captain Joe Long. Captain James Craig was the Ulster Unionist MP for East Down, who campaigned to oppose Home Rule, was knighted Sir James Craig in 1917 and succeeded Sir Edward Carson. Major Frederick Crawford was the Ulster Unionist Council's agent who organised the buying of weapons for the UVF from 1910 onwards. He was a Boer War veteran and a founder of Young Ulster in 1892. He persuaded the UUC to risk the large shipment of weapons and ammunition from Austria via the SS Fanny to the SS Clydevalley which brought the guns that armed the UVF to Ulster. From Sutton; Robert Seymour was a 33-year old UVF volunteer shot by the IRA in his shop on the Woodstock Road, Belfast on 15th June 1988. Joe Long was a 35-year old UVF volunteer who was killed in a premature explosion on 27th February 1977 whilst carrying the bomb along Exchange Street, off Corporation Street in Belfast.

'Dedicated to the memory of Vol. Joe McDonnell born here in Slate Street 14th September 1950 and who died after 61 days on Hunger Strike in the H Blocks of Long Kesh 8th July 1981. A mother kneels in silent prayer, a flower clasped to her breast, she lays it on a lonely grave, where her fallen son now rests. No tears blur her deep blue eyes, they shine with loving pride, she knows he fought for freedom, for liberty he died. Go ndeanfaídh Día trocaíre as a anam (May God have Mercy on his Soul)'. Plaque to Joe McDonnell with his portrait flanked by the lark and barbed wire.

Second photo of the mural in No.1163. From Sutton; Thomas Tolan was an IRA volunteer who died at the age of 31 while walking along Divismore Crescent. Michael Kane was an IRA volunteer who died at the age of 35 (04/09/70) in a premature bomb explosion at an electricity transformer in Malone, Belfast. James McGrillen was a 25-year old IRA volunteer who was shot whilst travelling in car, immediately after launching a gun attack on pedestrians, Ballygomartin Road, Belfast on 15/02/76. John Stone was a 23-year old IRA volunteer who died 21/01/75 in a premature bomb explosion while travelling in a car along Victoria Street, Belfast.

thumbnail photo of mural'Support the Turkish Hunger Strike. Sevgi Erdogan, 45 years old, 267 days of hunger strike. Died 12th July 2001. She was inspired by Bobby Sands'. Mesmerizing portrait of the emaciated figure of Sevgi Erdogan. The Turkish hunger-strikes began in October 2000 with a protest by revolutionary groups including the Marxist Devrimci Halk Kurtulus Cephesi (the Revolutionary People's Liberation Front), about prison accommodation changing from 60 bedded dormitories (training grounds for extremism according to the Turkish Government) to 'F' type prison cells for up to three people (leaving prisoners more vulnerable to mistreatment by guards according to the protestors) amongst several other demands. The 'death fasts' have claimed over forty lives both inside and outside the prison, and there are still hundreds of prisoners and supporters on hunger strike.
