Two armed loyalist gunmen flank the UVF emblem. Behind is the purple UVF flag and ruffled St. Andrew's and Ulster flags. 'No.5 Platoon UVF 'A' Company' and '1st Battalion, Shankill, West Belfast'. The plaque is inscribed to 'Big' Bill Campbell, and there are wreaths laid behind a gate with the letters 'UVF' on it. The wall in front of the gable end is painted black, and in gold lettering is written 'You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye, who cheer when soldier lads pass by, sneak home and pray you'll never know, the hell where youth and laughter go. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we shall remember them' |
