"UDA 3rd Battalion. N. Antrim brigade, Londonderry. Manacled red hand flanked by the UDA and UFF flags. A rifle is draped with a ribbon "Terrae Filius". Text beside the crests is an amended version of the Declaration of Arbroath (the Declaration of Scottish Independence 1320), altered to stand against Irish rather than English Rule. "For as long as one hundred of us remain alive, we shall never in any way consent to submit to the rule of the Irish. For it is not Glory we fight, but for freedom alone, which no man loses but with his life". |
