Description: | This exhibition includes textiles developed by local communities prompted by a series of workshops which followed the September 2012 exhibition in Coleraine: Stitching and Unstitching The Troubles-phase 1
Through these textiles and a number of other pieces from Northern Ireland, England, Spain, Chile, Peru and Colombia, we are invited to explore the multi-layered impact of conflict and its aftermath with a central emphasis on The Troubles in Northern Ireland. Phase two of this two phase programme of exhibitions and workshops incorporates a series of related events.
The exhibition launch takes place on Monday 15th April 2013 at 2.00 pm.
Exhibition opening times are: Monday to Friday 10 am - 5 pm, Saturday 10 am - 4 pm.
All events are free, but booking is essential.

Outcome: | This exhibition showcased 25 textiles created by women on a cross-community basis, exploring their experiences of and response to The Troubles in Northern Ireland. It prompted questions, conversations, connections and collaboration. Many of these textiles have since been exhibited in a variety of venues in several continents and are a valuable textile resource on The Troubles in Northern Ireland. |
