  Information on photograph displayed above
  Title: Cannon (04)
Location: City Walls, Derry, Northern Ireland.
Description: One of the many cannon that are situated on the City Walls in Derry, Northern Ireland. This particular cannon is called 'Roaring Meg' and is located at the 'Double Bastion' on the City Walls overlooking the Bogside area of Derry. The cannon was given its name because during the Siege of Derry 1688 to 1689 the canon was said to have made the loudest noise of any gun. (See also the photograph of the same scene taken in 1968.)
