Anti-Sinn Féin and IRA

This genre of loyalist websites is devoted exclusively to criticism of Sinn Féin and the IRA. These sites aim to reveal what loyalists see as Irish Republicanism's 'true' nature. The core intended audience is usually Irish-Americans, conceived as a group that supports Irish Republicans out of ignorance. This genre seems to have a particularly short lifespan and to be associated with initial adoption of the Web, when many loyalists active online saw the Internet principally as a tool for countering what they saw as a worldwide IRA propaganda machine. Of the eight sites listed below only one was still active by March 2005.
