The photograph shows the area near peace line by Lanark Way (Photograph 2), Belfast. In the background are Protestant houses with a security fence running behing them. Behind the photographer is the main Peace Line separating Catholic and Protestant areas of West Belfast. Note the vacant land in the foreground. It has been suggested that this land should be rezoned for Catholic housing to cater for the growing Catholic population in West Belfast. However, city planners realise that rezoning 'Protestant land' for Catholic housing would be politically unacceptable to Unionists.
