Description: This exhibition incorporates both international and Brazilian arpilleras.
Arpillera Conversations showcases 12 arpilleras from the Conflict Textiles Collection, an international collection gathered over four decades by Chilean curator and human rights advocate Roberta Bacic.
Affected by Dams: Sewing Rights showcases 25 Brazilian arpilleras made between 2013 and 2015 by women affected by dams from different parts of Brazil. It has been organized by participants of the Movement of People Affected by Dams (MAB).

Outcome: 1. Mapping of human rights violations suffered by women affected by Dams in Brazil using arpilleras as a language for documentation and advocacy.
2. Development of Popular Education methodology that use arpilleras as a language following the principles and pedagogy of Paulo Freire. Arpilleras are the main advocacy language used by Women Affected by Dams in Brazil on a national scale.
