This collective arpillera was made during a workshop which was part of the International Arpillera's Forum, 2016. At this time, a rally in support of refugees was taking place in Gernika. In solidarity with the rally this workshop focused on creating a banner for nonviolent action.

Over two afternoons, women from many different countries worked together, with fabric, needle and thread as their common language. This finished piece is a modest homage and support towards all the people who are displaced from their homes. It is planned to turn it into a banner that could be carried in future nonviolent actions and protests.
