Description: | Conflict Textiles will be exibiting two works by textile artist Eileen Harrisson to bring focus to the many pieces she has made over the years and her dedication to bringing to life the lived experience of others. The two pieces on display will be Continuum, which depicts her family's experiences of the Troubles in Northern Ireland, and Her Pillow, the Earth, made in response to the Conflict Textiles exhibition War-Torn Children.
Eileen's works have been part of many exhibitions internationally, and "Her Pillow, the Earth" was featured in the book Arpilleras Poéticas.
The launch will be on 23rd May at 11am and we will be joined by the artist, family and the extended community.
Conflict Textiles tribute to artist Eileen Harrisson and her presentation were filmed in the library on the 23rd May 2024.
This exhibition is a satellite of the Conflict Textiles retrospective exhibition Threads of Empowerment: Conflict Textiles' International Journey at the Ulster Museum, Belfast (June 2024 - March 2025). For more information please visit our Summary page.
