Description: | In this exhibition, Marlene Milner presents an interpretation of the literary work of Virginia Woolf in stitch and textile. The exhibition launch was complemented with a workshop by Helen Mc Laughlin titled "How women tell their stories."
This exhibition was part of a continuous series of arpillera and quilt exhibitions hosted by the Verbal Arts Centre in Derry and curated by Roberta Bacic, from 2008 to 2013. Each exhibition, comprised of a piece or pieces created by community groups from different parts of the island, other countries, or individual women, was displayed for a number of weeks before being replaced with a new exhibition. |

Outcome: | This exhibition challenged viewers to seek different sources of inspiration. In the words of Sandra Montgomery who viewed the exhibition: "the biggest impact for me was her source of inspiration. I had never thought to use a book as the starting point. So Marlene has made me think outside the box. |
