Exhibition and associated activities: | Stitching Peace: An exhibition of arpilleras and quilts |
Description: | This exhibition was commissioned by the WCC for their International Ecumenical Peace Convocation (IEPC) to mark the end of the Decade to Overcome Violence which began in 2001. It draws together a selection of arpilleras and quilts from Latin America, Africa and Europe that epitomize some of the important focal points of any discussion of a peaceful society. It also depicts the use of non-violent actions as a way to address urgent social issues.
