Workshop:Textiles and the Social Fabric of the Colombian Conflict
Description: This interactive and participatory workshop explored the role of Conflict Textiles as a vehicle for giving testimony about the lived experience of conflict, focusing on Colombia.

On display at this workshop was a selection of Colombian pieces from the Conflict Textiles collection. Curator of the collection, Roberta Bacic, introduced the textiles. These textiles tell the stories of both those who have remained in Colombia, and those who were forced into exile. Workshop participants will be invited to explore the relationship between these textiles and themes such as voice, agency, memory, truth, justice, and human rights.

This event was an associated activity within the Conflict Textiles collection: McClay Library, Queen's University, Belfast permanent rotating exhibition.
