Rotating exhibition:ARK / Conflict Textiles - Education
Description: 'ARK / Conflict Textiles - Education' marks the 5th installation of the rotating exhibition which commenced in June 2023 as a collaboration between Conflict Textiles, ARK and the McClay Library at Queen's University Belfast.

The theme of the four pieces connect to ARK's annual Northern Ireland Life and Times survey, which in 2025 included questions exploring public sentiment to education.

The exhibition launch will take place at 12:15pm on the 25th November at the McClay Library.

Details of the inaugural exhibition are available at ARK / Conflict Textiles (01/06/2023 - 06/03/2024). Further information can be found on the second, third and fourth exhibitions on their own event page.
Commissioned by: ARK / Conflict Textiles
Date(s): 25th November 2025 - 25th March 2026
Venue: McClay Library, Queen's University, Belfast
10 College Park Ave, Belfast BT7 1LP
Curator: Roberta Bacic
Facilitator: Paula Devine and Special Collections at Queen's
Outcome: The fifth installation in the ARK/Conflict Textiles collaboration highlighted the importance and centrality of education for children and young people living in conflict zones. Within Northern Ireland, ARK's research portfolio on education has explored the experiences of children in school, as well as research on the demand for integrated education. This has resulted in range of publications, events and other outputs, as well as attitudinal data from ARK's Northern Ireland Life and Times, Young Life and Times and Kids' Life and Times surveys. The four textiles in the exhibition complemented this, giving a global and visual perspective. The location of the exhibition on the ground floor of McClay Library at Queen's University Belfast provided easy access to staff, students and visitors.
