Description: | The Irish Centre for Human Rights NUI Galway School of Law, is hosting a one-day international conference titled "The role of Transitional Justice Archives after war and dictatorship: International Experiences and the case of Colombia". It aims to bring together scholars and practitioners from different countries and background to explore the role of archives of transitional justice mechanisms (TJ) on post-conflict and post-authoritarian societies.
Conflict Textiles will deliver a one hour input at the opening session (12.00 - 1.00pm).
"Conflict Textiles as Counter Archives in Truth Commission Processes" will focus on the testimonial and archival significance of textiles drawing on textiles from Chile, Northern Ireland, Argentina and Colombia, within the wider Conflict Textiles collection.
