Workshop:TRAVELLING TAPESTRIES: STORIES OF THE CHILEAN ARPILLERAS
Description: Aberdeen is the latest stop in the international journey of the arpilleras. “Travelling Tapestries” is hosted by the University of Aberdeen in association with The College of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Aberdeen. It combines two elements: a Workshop and Seminar.

Lunchtime Seminar with Roberta Bacic
This will include a short film and an exhibition of 10 arpilleras. One of these pieces, titled “Volviendo al punto de partida / Coming full circle” has been created by a student of Modern Languages at Queen’s University Belfast. It is his response to “Tiempo de claveles” by Costa Rican author, Tatiana Lobo.

Outcome: The“Stitching Stories” Workshop resulted in the creation of an arpillera which was later mounted by Roberta Bacic. It is on display for the remainder of 2016 on a student's notice board at the School of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture.
