Launch and workshop:Launch of Conflict Textiles website
Description: The new Conflict Textiles website, launched by The Mayor of Derry City & Strabane District Council - Councillor Elisha McCallion - will ensure widespread access to this large collection of international textiles, exhibitions and associated events, all of which focus on elements of conflict and human rights abuses.
At the launch, chaired by Margaret Edwards, Education Officer, Tower Museum, brief presentations were given by Professor Gillian Robinson (INCORE – Ulster University)and Roberta Bacic, independent Curator, former collector and custodian of Conflict Textiles collection. Assistant curator Breege Doherty outlined how to navigate the website and Roser Corbera from Catalonia who designed the Conflict Textiles logo explained the process of creating it.

A guided tour of arpilleras in the ‘Story of Derry’ exhibition was given by Roberta Bacic, followed by a screening of the film ‘Common Threads’ by Gayla Jamison.
A workshop, facilitated by Breege Doherty and Ronan Mc Connell, Temporary Archivist at the Tower Museum, gave attendees an opportunity to become familiar with the website.
