Description:

Poor Living Condition depicts a poor Chilean shanty house belonging to a family. As the rain pours down the corrugated steel roof leaks water into every part of the dwelling: the bed, the entryway, the dinner table. Like the rain, poverty permeates every area of life, particularly the domestic. The presence of a latrine outside indicates the lack of water and infrastructure inside the home, and the difficulties presented in every task compounded by poor living conditions. A lone workman repairs the roof, though despite his efforts - if the roof is not replaced - it will only continue to rust away.
