This piece was created by women who had previously in 2009 related their memories of the Spanish Civil War through individual arpilleras. Here they depict the collective Catalonian memory of this group regarding the experience of crossing the Pyrenees into France. On this journey into exile they endured terrible hardships and perilous conditions as they made their way through this mountainous terrain, a journey which not all survived.
