Description: | "Arpilleres: Les nostres històries fan història", is an innovative educational experience developed in the public school, Escola Sant Pau, in the town of Sant Pol de Mar, near Barcelona (Catalonia). This inter disciplinary project, now in its fourth year, through the medium of textiles, facilitates work on major educational areas and moral values such as Peace and Environmental respect.
Mayor of Sant Pol de Mar Council Montserrat Garrido and teachers Neus Bartrolí and Carmen Pérez, Sant Pau Primary School, travelled to Derry for the launch and delivered a short input on their experience of the project within their school and wider area.
This exhibition was part of a continuous series of arpillera and quilt exhibitions hosted by the Verbal Arts Centre in Derry and curated by Roberta Bacic, from 2008 to 2013.
