Invitation to book launch: "Grassroots Activism and the Evolution of Transitional Justice", 7th February 2018

Book launch:Launch of book: "Grassroots Activism and the Evolution of Transitional Justice"
Description: “Grassroots Activism and the Evolution of Transitional Justice” by Dr Iosif Kovras, focuses on the relevance of the families’ struggle in their quest for their disappeared in four different countries: Chile, Lebanon, Cyprus and South Africa.
Appropriately, the Chilean arpillera “Where are They?” from Conflict Textiles collection forms the cover image of the book.

This arpillera was on display during the launch event which incorporated a discussion between Bruce Clark, author, journalist and lecturer who has written for “The Economist” since 1988 and Dr. Kovras. This was followed by question & answer session and a wine reception.

Dr. Kovras has said: “The arpillera attracted significant attention, a lot of people asked significant questions”.

Dr. Lorna Dillon, PhD candidate Elsie Doolan and Chilean Cultural Attaché, Catalina Herrera were in attendance.
