Exhibition and associated activities:Rebelles exhibiton, as part of the FITE 2016 - International Festival of Extraordinary Textiles (FITE)
Description: The FITE 2016 is an adventure exploring the different forms of rebellion throughout the world. Although the backdrops for rebellion may differ, the rebels we are interested in strive for freedom, social justice and equality among Men.

The exhibition sensitively and humanely explores the subject of Rebels in the world with textiles from five continents as sources of information and research. The idea is to broaden visitors’ horizons by presenting different social, political, aesthetic, philosophical and cultural aspects and issues surrounding this subject.

The message is conveyed by “extraordinary textiles” in the sense of the aforementioned definition. Broadly speaking, these textiles, paired with photography and film resources, are windows onto the world and embodiments of artistic beliefs. They produce an unexpected reaction, spark astonishment and wonder in the visitor as each delivers its message in its own way. The quality of the workmanship and signature aren’t what matters. The pieces are chosen for the stances they imply, the concepts they bring and the causes they uphold.
