Sinn Féin Election Mural
After the hunger strike, the electoral involvement of Sinn Féin led to the periodic production of murals. Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams won the seat for the constituency of West Belfast, lost it later to Joe Hendron of the Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) and won it back in 1997. A roving mural of Adams in the lead up to the 1997 election is shown in the foreground, as another mural, depicting the similarity between the political struggles in the North of Ireland and the Basque country/Euskadi, is unveiled in the background. This is in Beechmount Grove, West Belfast.
