During the 1970s and early 1980s, loyalist flags predominated in murals, but by the mid-1980s, in the aftermath of the Anglo-Irish Agreement (November 1985), loyalist murals became increasingly militaristic. Some of these murals were memorials to dead comrades, as in the tribute to Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) member Trevor King, painted in Disraeli Street, North Belfast, in 1994.
