NEW EARNINGS SURVEY
Data for a pay period in April are obtained from a 1% random
sample of employees identified from Inland Revenue records of
PAYE schemes. The topics covered are average weekly and hourly
earnings by industry; distribution of earnings; gross weekly
earnings by occupation; gross weekly and hourly earnings by area
and Northern Ireland gross weekly and hourly earnings as a
percentage of those in Great Britain.
