THE PUPILS AND TEACHERS IN GRANT-AIDED SCHOOLS BULLETIN

Each year the Department carries out a survey of all types of grant-aided schools in the nursery, primary, secondary and special school sectors, the results of which are published in the pupil and teachers in grant-aided schools bulletin. The bulletin provides a range of information: pupil enrolments analysed by education sector (primary, secondary etc.) age and Education and Library Board area; the number of pupils under 5 years of age; the percentage of all pupils remaining at school beyond school leaving age; pupil teacher ratios according to education sector; and the number of schools according to education sector. There are plans to increase the bulletin's coverage and the next bulletin will provide information on enrolments by school management type (controlled, maintained and voluntary) and religion.
