Description: |
Rectangular-shaped stone plaque attached to the rear wall of the main War Memorial. James Cochrane was killed with two other full-time UDR soldiers in an IRA land mine attack on their mobile patrol on 6 January 1980. He was the eighth Catholic member of the regiment to be killed. Cochrane's mother campaigned to have the memorial stone added to the War Memorial in Downpatrick. |
