Introduction to Artwork
Artwork (48 examples)
This is a collection of various pieces of artwork displayed at the "Ireland, the right to know" exhibition in 1989. The principle theme behind the exhibition was censorship on the political issue of Ireland.
The exhibition was held in the South London Gallery in the Borough of Lambeth. The controversy that the exhibition generated was such that the Local Authority sought to ban it. However, the Borough Solicitor considered that the Loyalist postcards and posters that were part of montages presented by Peter Moloney gave the exhibition sufficient political balance to enable the exhibition to proceed.
