1930
While the Catholic church complains about perceived discrimination, the
main Protestant churches have mounted an equally vocal campaign about the
secular nature of the 1923 Act. The subsequent Education (Northern Ireland)
Act 1930 seeks to resolve both grievances by firstly, restoring 50% funding
to the Voluntary schools and secondly, by allowing religious instruction in
the controlled schools.
