A patrol group normally consisted of three 'bricks' (3 x 4 men) on foot to one mobile section, comprised of two APV's (Armoured Patrol Vehicle). The foot patrol would slowly move into the area while the mobile sections secured a wider perimeter and were able to respond quickly should they be needed to. The mobiles always seemed to give a strange sense of security whenever they were there; as if you weren't alone anymore. (Paul Crispin) |
