Exhibition:Women's Rights are Human Rights
Description: This quilt, initiated by the Committee for the Administration of Justice, (CAJ), with participation of women from the whole of Ireland was created for display at the 4th UN World Conference on Women in Beijing, China, 1995. The final quilt,comprised of 30 panels depicted a variety of human rights issues for women.

This exhibition was the first in a continuous series of arpillera and quilt exhibitions hosted by the Verbal Arts Centre in Derry and curated by Roberta Bacic, from 2008 to 2013. Each exhibition, comprised of a piece or pieces created by community groups from different parts of the island, other countries, or individual women, was displayed for a number of weeks before being replaced with a new exhibition.

Outcome: This quilt has become synonymous with raising issues of discrimination and repression of women across many spheres of society and on a global level. In this exhibition it evoked a strong sense of the power of women working in solidarity for a better world.
