Exhibition:The Art of Survival: International and Irish Quilts
Description: The exhibition "The politics of Chilean arpilleras" took place in the Harbour Museum, Derry, from 8 February 2008 to 19 April 2008. It preceded the major exhibition "The Art of Survival: International and Irish Quilts" which was held at eight additional venues across Derry from 8 March 2008 until 19 April 2008, with the Verbal Arts Centre being one venue. There were also two launch events; one at the
Verbal Arts Centre and one at the Harbour Museum.

The combined exhibition of Irish and international quilts and Chilean arpilleras was the result of a collaboration between Derry City Council Heritage and Museum Services and The Junction with guest curator Roberta Bacic.

A total of 26 Irish quilts, 17 Chilean arpilleras and 24 international quilts were displayed at the nine venues in Derry.
