Description: This selection of 16 pieces was set up as part of Hanna's House Feminist Art Exhibition 'The Wars on Women: Peace Works' in the context of Hanna's House Summer School 2010 'A Feminist Peace: How do we get there?'. The overall programme of events included a launch and two workshops facilitated by the curator Roberta Bacic.

The workshop titled 'Sewing Stories into Arpilleras and Quilts' took place over two sessions. Participants were invited to bring along sewing accessories and materials in order to engage practically by creating their own textile pieces linked to the sharing of personal stories.
Commissioned by: Hanna's House Summer School 2010
Date(s): 27th August 2010 - 29th August 2010
Venue: Art College, University of Ulster
University of Ulster, Belfast campus, York Road, Belfast, Northern Ireland. BT15 1ED
Curator: Roberta Bacic
Facilitator: Roberta Bacic
Outcome: Overall the exhibition and workshops contributed to a greater insight by participants into the world of the women who created these arpilleras in Chile and elsewhere and their creative and courageous responses in difficult, repressive circumstances.
